Homemade Granola

Homemade Granola

This granola is great as a snack or a morning treat with yogurt and fruit. Feel free to eliminate, substitute or add any other dried fruits or nuts to this recipe.




Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups oats
1/2 cup dried cranberries or any other dried fruit
1/4 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup roughly chopped almonds
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup maple syrup or honey

Preheat oven to 300 degrees
In a large bowl combine oats, cinnamon, walnuts, almonds and sunflower seeds.
Take a 1 cup measuring cup fill half with vegetable oil and the other half with maple syrup
Pour oil and syrup over the nut mixture.
Toss to coat
Spread mixture on a 13x9 baking pan (preferably one with sides)
Bake for 35 min. stirring frequently (about every 5 min)
When done mix in the cranberries and allow to cool
When cooled store in an airtight container in a cool place

*Will keep for several weeks
*Makes 6 cups
