Green Beans
Green Beans
by Jennifer Carlisle
I came up with this recipe one night trying to re-create my husband's Granny's green beans she makes. She bundles her green beans with bacon and they are so delicious. This is my version, and though it will never be the same as Granny's, it satisfies our cravings until we have hers again.
Ingredients:
1- 16 oz. bag frozen green beans
1 medium onion, diced
4 slices bacon, diced small into bite size pieces
1 tbsp butter
salt to taste
1-1 1/2 tbsp Worchestershire sauce (a few shakes or the bottle)
2 tbsp brown sugar
Preheat large saute pan on medium heat.
Add butter- melt
Then add onion and bacon cook for 5 min. over med.-low heat
Then add green beans.
Cover and cook for 10 min.
Add salt, worchestershire sauce and brown sugar and continue to cook for 5-10 min. until green beans are cooked and tender.
