Teriyaki Chicken Wings
Teriyaki Chicken Wings
by John Burk
I received this recipe from my Uncle John. These wings take a little time, but they are slowly cooked, therefore very tender and delicious! They will be devoured in a matter of minutes once you place them out for your friends and family to eat. Enjoy!
Here are the wings in the roaster oven. You can certainly make these wings in a regular oven too and use two large roaster pans. Bake chicken wings for 30 min. before adding the sauce.
Here is the sauce for the wings. Mix together soy sauce, garlic, brown sugar, wine, and dry mustard. Bring to boil and allow to simmer for 30 min.
Then add the sauce to the wings and allow to bake for another 2 1/2 - 3 hours, turning the wings occasionally to coat with sauce. These wings will become darker, tender and full of delicious flavor.
Here are the wings, finished, and don't they look beautiful, and yummy. Honestly this photo was taken after I set them out, and look, they are almost all gone. They will go quickly!
Ingredients:
5 lbs chicken wings
1 cup brown sugar
2 cloves garlic
1 cup marsalla wine or 3/4 cup of a good red wine (remember flavors concentrate when you cook them, so pick something you would drink)
1 cup soy sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard
Bake wings only, for 30 min. at 350 degrees in a couple of large roasting pans in an oven, or in a roaster like the one I used (if you have one, the oven works good too). Drain grease. Combine the rest of the ingredients in sauce pan, bring to a boil, then simmer for 30 min. Pour sauce over wings and bake for 2 1/2 to 3 hours at 350 degrees farenheit. Turning occasionally. Wings will become darker as they bake with the sauce and will be super tender. Cook until they are all the way done though. Enjoy!!
